Background & Core Beliefs About Art Education
I am newly retired from classroom teaching with over 30 years experience. For 12 years I was a Primary School Teacher working with students across all Levels from Year 2 – 8 and for the last 18 years I have specialised as a Visual Art Specialist working with students from Year 7 – 11.
My philosophy for all ages interested in exploring their creative side is:
- Provide an environment where you feel relaxed, encouraged and nurtured to experiment and create art.
- Provide a varied programme of art experiences, where learning and experimentation go hand in hand to create art.
- Make reference to practising artist models and support learning with exemplars
Intention
- To create a rich art experience where you get to take home a finished piece of artwork
- Select a topic that piques your interest and work within the guidelines I set to explore, experiment and create your piece of art
- Work at your own pace in a supported and guided environment
- Engage in one off sessions or complete a series of workshops to create your art
